Helps TGW to execute long-term and short-term plans and directives by implementing judgement, vision, management, and leadership. The COO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational processes and controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place (selection / development) to effectively grow the organization while maintaining quality and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass calculated project margins, cash flow, business goals and objectives, timelines and the agreed technical parameters Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organization Collaborate with the sales team to support offer, design and contract reviews and to develop and execute a clear handover process between the departments Provide a diligent risk assessment for each project (before contract signature) based on maturity-level of the (realization) team, the offered solution and the acceptance criteria's (technical and commercial). Motivate and lead a high-performance operations team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place, provide mentoring and coaching as a cornerstone to the management career development program Understand technical issues in the customer projects and support the project Core team within internal and Customer related topics Act as lead "client-care officer" through direct contact with clients Foster a success-oriented, accountable and agile environment within the company Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and relevant reports on the operating condition of the company Actively liaise with Group Senior Vice President Realization and all other Global Realization Roles and COOs to further improve current group-wide processes and standards. Actively solve or improve Intercompany/Interdisciplinary issues to ensure a better collaboration. Provide day-to-day leadership and management to an organization that mirrors the adopted vision of the company Represent the firm with clients, investors, and business partners Performs other duties as required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline. Strong technical background.
Experience:
5+ years' experience in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning in the project business. 8+ years' experience in (intralogistics) project realization dealing with mechanical and electrical engineering plus software implementation.
Travel:
30% of travel as required. Skills & Abilities Flexible and able to multitask, can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions, demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems Possess qualities in line with TGW values Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team Strong leadership skills: developing people, navigating in changing environments Strong communication and negotiation skills, relationship building, presentation skills Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus Lean Management skill: applying the lean philosophy in the daily operation and processes (Leadership@Work) Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment. Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time. Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis. Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region. TGW's customers may require background checks before accessing their sites. Project timeline, project financial results and customer satisfaction (quality) are the key measures of project success. By assuring compliance to internal group-wide processes and standards, the COO ensures that the organization meets high class project standards.
