Global Policy & Trade Lead- Commodity Fo Follow Company More Jobs from Bayer Send to Friend [[title]] You will develop and execute comprehensive global engagement strategy vis a vis grain trade partners to support timely delivery of BCS commercial plans for commodity crops (soy, corn etc.) and related inputs over the SBP which drive innovation offerings to customers primarily in NA ANZ and LATAM, but in other geographies as well.YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Policy & Trade Lead- Commodity Focus, are to: Lead Global Advocacy and Issues Strategy vis-a-vis innovation delivery and commodity trade by establishing a network of effective grain trade stakeholder engagements that support current product and future business growth opportunities for our commodity crops business (soy, corn etc.) and related inputs; Provide input for budget, business case development, on top of measures of success. Review trade-off and organizational focus. Engage with grain trade stakeholders and commodity ecosystem partners to communicate opportunities; Drive comprehensive global grain trade engagement strategy to primarily support commodity trade from the Americas to Europe and Asia as well as across the region; Lead multifunctional, global teams to ensure shared ownership enabling timely delivery of LTO for, primarily, the BCS commodity crop (soy, corn etc.) and inputs commercial plans; Ensure a cohesive, aligned grain trade strategy developed with the BCS Enterprise Product Teams, Regulatory, LPC, SP&I, and regional LTOs. Contributes to development of Commercial and GTM strategies with innovation and commodity trade insights to support Crop Science objectives; Drive industry engagement and understand the global market and commodity trade landscape, company offerings, competitive positions, and commercial interests through maintaining strong external networks; Leverage insights and direction internally and externally with particular focus on grower customers, grain traders, and their role in advocacy engagement; Identify and prioritize advocacy approaches, leveraging SP&I capabilities and internal networks, as well as external contacts in the global advocacy ecosystem; Build advocacy use cases while also conducting analysis of, and recommendations for, expanded relationships or engagements that add to and/or reinforce approach while measuring the impact and viability of these partnerships; Provide visionary and hands-on leadership to the strategy and commercial leads and their teams to understand their plans; Effectively architect a cohesive, multi-phased approach to deliver near-term and long-term value in LTO to the BCS commercial business; Distill stakeholders, customer and market insights into an actionable plan guiding advocacy plans; Influence and attract partnerships; Create stakeholder pull to effectively support on-time delivery of innovation to our customers.WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as ag economics, policy, or related discipline; Direct, recent experience providing strategic counsel on agricultural policy and business strategy; Demonstrated understanding of ag economics, policy, and trade as well as industry trends and value creation opportunities across the value chain; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners; Strong analytical abilities for reassessing risk/benefit opportunities to evaluate the potential impact/value of different engagement initiatives and strategies for the business; Effective communication and influence skills for generating multi-stakeholder buy-in, making recommendations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams; Ability to manage large and complex projects effectively, ensuring that engagements create value, and are executed efficiently and on schedule.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree; Demonstrated experience in coalition building to advance concrete business outcomes; 15+ years in global agriculture, economics, trade, and policy . This posting will be available for application until at least May 12, 2026 . Relocation may be offered for this role. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $213,040.00 to $319,560.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
