Job Summary:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Operations, Provider Surgical Services is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of all surgical specialties non-Musculoskeletal (MSK) within the ProMedica Physician Group. This role provides executive leadership for employed surgical providers, driving growth, access, quality, and physician engagement across all surgical service lines. In close partnership with the Chief Operating Officer Acute Care and Vice President of Surgical Services Acute Care, this role ensures alignment between physician enterprise strategy and hospital-based surgical operations, optimizing system-wide surgical performance, patient outcomes, and market growth.
SCOPE OF ACCOUNTABILITY
All PPG-employed surgical specialties (e.g., general surgery, gastroenterology, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, etc.) Surgical practice operations across all regions Physician recruitment, onboarding, productivity, and retention Surgical growth strategy and market expansion Alignment with acute care perioperative operations, including OR access and block utilization Collaboration with service lines, hospital leadership, and system functions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
Master's degree in health care administration, business administration, nursing, or related field.
Skills :
Strong strategic, operational, and financial acumen. Proven ability to partner effectively with physicians and senior executives. Excellent communication, leadership, and change management capabilities. Ability to work in high matrix environments.
Years of Experience :
7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience. Experience working with or leading surgical service lines and/or physician groups. Demonstrated success in managing physician relationships and driving operational performance. Experience in developing new Markets and expanding geographical footprint. Deep knowledge of on-call surgeons set up and structure. Experience in high volume Ambulatory Surgical Center operations. Demonstrated success in revenue cycle optimization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills :
Experience in multi-site physician group operations. Experience in surgical services leadership or perioperative operations.
Certification :
