Willamette Valley. In this pivotal role, you will lead the medical group's financial performance, provider compensation strategy, and long?term economic sustainability. As a key partner to the SMG CEO and dyad leadership teams, you will influence system?wide decisions that drive growth, expand access, and strengthen the organization's long?term vitality. Purpose:
Provides visionary, enterprise?level leadership for the financial performance, provider compensation strategy, and long?term economic vitality of Samaritan Medical Group (SMG)—the medical group of a five?hospital, mission?driven health system serving Oregon's mid?

Willamette Valley. As a key strategic partner to the SMG Chief Executive Officer and dyad leadership teams, this executive holds primary accountability for shaping and executing the economic strategy that fuels medical group growth, strengthens patient access, and ensures long?term sustainability. This role defines the financial architecture of the medical group, aligning economics with system?wide goals, advancing value?based care, and enabling operational excellence across all clinical service lines.
Job Specific Duties:
Medical Group Financial Strategy & Performance Clinician Compensation Strategy and Governance Medical Group Governance, Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership Enterprise Operations Oversight Data, Analytics & Technology Enablement Market Integration, Growth & External Engagement Experience/Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field required. Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred. Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare finance required, with direct experience supporting medical group or ambulatory operations. Experience working within shared services and dyad leadership models required. Experience leading through change in large, matrixed healthcare organizations required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Expertise in medical group or ambulatory financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, compensation modeling, and performance analytics. Advanced financial modeling, analytics, and business case development skills required. Strong understanding of physician compensation structures, productivity metrics, and market benchmarking. Proven strategic leadership ability with influence across clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership teams and boards. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex governance environments.
