Vice President of Operations About OnCare Digital Assets Join OnCare Digital Assets and become part of a team of empowered industrial electronics professionals that create award-winning automation solutions for major paper mills across North America. OnCare Digital Assets is the largest third-party Quality Control System service provider on the continent, delivering automation support to leaders in the pulp & paper industry. Position Summary The Business Manager leads service business operations through the development of business plans and execution of service solutions in compliance with customer specifications and contractual agreements. This role is responsible for leading a team of field personnel, managing a P&L, growing service business within existing and new customer locations, and reporting current and future department performance. Key responsibilities include daily engagement and collaboration with customers, team members, sales and marketing, and project operations to ensure customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitable growth. Key Responsibilities Develop long-term, high-quality business relationships with customers by engaging with management teams and consistently exceeding expectations Ensure timely and cost-effective management of service contracts through preventive maintenance and service delivery according to contract requirements Deliver guaranteed customer savings, fulfill commitments, and maximize customer satisfaction Actively participate in sales pursuits and project implementation alongside Account Managers If capable, operate as a working leader on existing customer contracts in support of service operations Manage overall P&L including department budget, location costs, and team compensation Take full responsibility for achieving cash goals, including support of past due receivable collections Lead contract reviews and negotiations with service customers and vendors to maximize contract retention Report, analyze, interpret, and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational estimates related to revenue and costs Lead by example to establish positive employee relations and maximize productivity through communication, coaching, performance feedback, and career development Help team members build development plans supporting current and future technology and customer relationship needs Coach team members to improve customer results, process improvements, customer satisfaction, and performance levels Effectively manage a dispersed and culturally diverse services team Champion OnCare's safety culture through demonstrated commitment and action supporting organizational safety and environmental requirements and regulations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant job experience Minimum of 5 years of experience managing service solutions, customer expectations, and P&L responsibilities Successful experience servicing industrial automation systems Technical knowledge and application experience with Quality Control Systems (QCS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and process control systems Understanding of Good Maintenance Practices, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and task scheduling Demonstrated experience presenting solutions to manufacturing customers ranging from line management to plant/facility leadership Strong organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Proven leadership experience with the ability to delegate authority, hold teams accountable, and exceed goals and objectives Strong business acumen including financial planning, budgeting, and negotiation skills Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and proactively address issues Ability to translate technical and customer issues into actionable business solutions Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Ability to communicate complex technical solutions, hardware/software deliverables, and financial results to both OnCare and customer leadership Demonstrated people leadership skills including coaching, performance management, communication, employee development, and talent growth Work Environment Primarily office-based with standard working hours.
