Travel & Work Schedule Expectations Requires extensive travel throughout the assigned region to support facility operations and leadership teams. Travel may include frequent driving and commercial air travel, as well as extended overnight stays. Position may require extended hours, evening work, or weekend availability depending on operational needs. Must be able to conduct facility rounds and maintain mobility throughout healthcare environments. The Regional Vice President of Operations (RVP) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple skilled nursing facilities within an assigned region. This role ensures that each facility operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while delivering high-quality resident care and achieving financial and operational performance goals. The RVP partners closely with State partners, facility Administrators, and Clinical/ Support Center leadership to drive operational excellence, improve quality outcomes, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize financial performance across all assigned facilities. This position serves as the primary liaison between HMR leadership, facility operations, and state partners, and is responsible for guiding our facility teams to achieve sustainable performance improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field required. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related discipline preferred. Current Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license preferred; must possess or be able to obtain licensure in the state(s) of operation if required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with significant experience in long-term care or skilled nursing. Demonstrated experience managing multiple facilities or service lines within a healthcare organization strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Strong understanding of financial management principles including budgeting, cost control, census management, reimbursement systems, and interpretation of financial statements. Experience leading performance improvement initiatives related to quality measures, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to guide and support facility administrators and leadership teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership, regulatory agencies, staff, residents, and families. Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze complex operational issues, and implement strategic solutions. Possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel extensively throughout the assigned region, including overnight travel as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operational Oversight & Leadership Provide leadership and operational oversight to assigned skilled nursing facilities to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and delivery of high-quality resident care. Serve as a mentor and strategic partner to facility Administrators, providing leadership support, coaching, and performance management guidance. Conduct regular facility visits to evaluate operational performance, assess regulatory compliance, and provide hands-on leadership support to facility teams. Develop and implement corrective action plans for facilities experiencing operational, financial, clinical, or regulatory challenges. Review and analyze facility financial performance, including budgets, operating expenses, reimbursement trends, and census performance. Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators to ensure facilities remain within approved budget parameters and organizational targets. Partner with facility leadership and corporate finance teams to develop and implement financial improvement strategies when necessary. Support the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of facility Administrators and key leadership personnel. Maintain strong working relationships with state partners and ensure alignment between facility operations, organizational goals, and state expectations. Compliance & Quality Performance Ensure all assigned facilities maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care operations, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements. Monitor survey readiness and oversee responses to regulatory surveys, audits, and plans of correction. Support and monitor facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives to improve resident outcomes and reduce regulatory risk. Work closely with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance across all facilities. Strategic Coordination & Organizational Communication Identify operational opportunities and lead strategic initiatives designed to improve facility performance, operational efficiency, and resident care outcomes. Collaborate with corporate departments including Clinical Services, Rehabilitation, Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance to ensure coordinated operational support. Participate in leadership meetings and strategy sessions with executive leadership to report on regional performance and operational priorities. Prepare and submit operational reports, performance updates, and action plans addressing identified issues or improvement opportunities. Assist senior leadership with special projects, organizational initiatives, and strategic operational priorities as assigned.
