Job Description

Position Summary The Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Operations, is responsible for leading the company's global sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, compliance, and operational strategy. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees the development and management of manufacturing partners and suppliers, primarily in China, while ensuring products are delivered on time, at the highest quality standards, in full regulatory compliance, and at competitive cost. This executive will serve as the strategic link between Product Development, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Logistics, Quality, and manufacturing partners, driving operational excellence, supplier performance, profitability, and scalable growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Operations Leadership Develop and execute the company's global operations, sourcing, procurement, and supply chain strategy. Partner with executive leadership to support growth initiatives, product launches, profitability goals, and long-term business planning. Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Lead capacity planning, production forecasting, inventory strategies, and risk management initiatives. Manufacturing, Sourcing & Supplier Management Lead relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers across China. Develop a deep understanding of supplier capabilities, capacity, quality systems, and cost structures. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturing partners to support growth and diversification. Drive supplier performance through structured reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Negotiate strategic manufacturing agreements and sourcing partnerships. Procurement & Cost Management Lead and develop the Procurement team and purchasing and demand planning strategy. Oversee supplier quotations, product costing, tooling investments, and sourcing decisions. Ensure procurement activities support production schedules, inventory objectives, and customer requirements. Product Development & Commercialization Partner with Product Development to ensure successful transition from concept through production. Oversee supplier engagement throughout development, sampling, testing, and launch readiness. Ensure suppliers meet development timelines, quality expectations, and production requirements. Production Planning & Supply Chain Execution Oversee production planning, factory capacity management, inventory strategy, and supply chain execution. Align demand forecasts with production capabilities and supplier capacity. Proactively resolve production, sourcing, and supply chain challenges to ensure on-time delivery. Quality, Compliance & Product Safety Lead quality assurance, quality control, compliance, and product safety programs. Ensure compliance with all applicable toy industry regulations and standards, including ASTM, CPSIA, CPSC, EN71, and other global requirements. Oversee factory quality systems, inspections, testing programs, corrective actions, and supplier compliance initiatives. Manage relationships with third-party testing laboratories and compliance partners. Team Leadership Build and lead a high-performing Operations, Procurement, Sourcing, Quality, and Supply Chain organization. Foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners. Develop future leaders and promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, sourcing, manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain management. Significant experience in the toy industry or children's or juvenile products industry. Extensive experience working with overseas contract manufacturers, particularly in China. Strong expertise in supplier management, sourcing, procurement, production planning, quality, compliance, and product costing. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational performance. Excellent financial, analytical, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. Willingness to travel internationally as required. Preferred Qualifications Established network of toy industry manufacturing and supplier relationships. Experience with sourcing diversification and global supply chain strategy. Knowledge of toy safety, testing, and regulatory compliance requirements. ERP, forecasting, and supply chain planning system experience.
Pay:
$215,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
