Job Description
VP
- Regional Services & Planning Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare

- Key member of the Executive Team.
- Develops and implements business plans to expand access to Le Bonheur and deliver high quality care within the region.
- Proactively consults and advises system leadership on planning, business opportunities, and market issues.
- Provides executive leadership to regional services and service lines to develop and implement business plans identified in service line strategic plans.
- Monitors healthcare industry trends and markets, formulates environmental assessments and makes strategy recommendations.
- Conducts analyses of business opportunities and assesses their effectiveness and consistency with strategic objectives.
- Consults with corporate and affiliate leaders on business development issues.
- Leads the development and administration of hospital policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provides strategic and operational leadership for select clinical ancillary services.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationship with the University of Tennessee as it relates to our academic and research missions.
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with regional partners, seeking ways to expand services.
- Works to develop strong hospital and physician relationships. Consistently works collaboratively with and serves at the boards of various professional, civic and service organizations as a representative of the hospital.
- Represents Le Bonheur at various community organizations and events.
Operations:
- Oversees development of budgets, plans, and overall direction for achievement of goals for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Develops strong working relationships and partnerships with physician/administrators, other hospital administration and departments to facilitate evidence-based standardization of processes.
- Investigates new developments in healthcare practice and technique and recommends programs for specific patient care needs.
- Ensures compliance with standards and regulations from local, state, and federal governments.
- Assigns and manages contracts with outside consultants, research firms and data suppliers.
- Develops and ensures comprehensive quality programs in assigned areas.
- Advises the CEO/President of matters regarding hospital operations and operational impact.
- Responsible for establishing and monitoring performance expectations in areas of responsibility.
- Develops operational staffing plans for the areas of assigned responsibility. Development and implementation of facility business strategy
- Develops and implements strategy which leads to improvement in market share consistent with mission and core values.
- Uses data to analyze market dynamics, trends and competition and implements strategies to meet market demand.
- Assesses market development strategy and industry trends as appropriate, leading to the generation of innovative ideas to improve current business plan and achieve desired results.
- Demonstrates exceptional financial management and analytical skills while leading the annual business planning process and preparing forecasts.
- Effectively advises CEO in the development and execution of short
- and long-term strategies.
- Establishes and influences others to achieve goals, targets and metrics consistent with strategic and operational objectives.
- Demonstrates excellent formal presentation and interpersonal communication skills that result in understanding of, and commitment to, strategic initiatives.
- Leads senior executive team in advancing the facility's short
- and long-term strategic plans. Service Line Development
- Identifies, evaluates, and gains consensus for development of new or expansion of current inpatient and/or outpatient services and programs based on lack of current supply, quality, growth and/or service in the market.
- Works in collaboration with hospital/department leaders to develop strategic service lines ensuring physician engagement to achieve desired results in quality, service, operations and financial metrics.
- Understands all operational components necessary to implement a new or expand a current service line, including but not limited to capital, equipment, people, education, quality metrics and costs.
- Monitors, understands and assesses service line performance by key performance indicators (volume, outcomes, market shares, etc.).
- Gathers competitive intelligence from the community on service line opportunities.
- Leads discussions with physicians, community-based facilities, local payers, providers and employers to gain information related to collaboration and support for strategic initiatives and service line development/enhancement to meet the needs of the community served.
- Work in collaboration with other Partnerships to facilities to develop network opportunities and service line enhancements.
- Leads Key Service Lines. Education/Formal Training Requirements Required
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration Preferred
- Master's Degree Work Experience Requirements Required
- Progressive management 7-9 years Preferred
- Pediatric academic medical center Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry and relevant trends.
