Transmission & Distribution Location:
Dallas, Texas About the Opportunity A leading utility infrastructure contractor is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead and scale its Transmission & Distribution operations across a high-growth region. This executive will provide strategic leadership over all aspects of operations, driving safety, financial performance, client satisfaction, and operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of T&D projects. This is a unique opportunity to join an established organization with significant investment in growth and a strong backlog of work, while playing a key role in shaping the future direction of the business. Key Responsibilities Provide executive leadership and oversight for Transmission & Distribution operations across the region. Lead multiple business units responsible for transmission, distribution, substation, and utility construction projects. Drive a strong safety culture and ensure consistent execution of company safety standards and operational best practices. Maintain full P&L responsibility, including forecasting, budgeting, resource planning, and financial performance. Partner with business development teams to support strategic pursuits, client engagement, and long-term growth initiatives. Build and mentor high-performing leadership teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional development. Develop and execute operational strategies to improve productivity, profitability, and overall project performance. Strengthen relationships with utility clients, municipalities, and key stakeholders while identifying opportunities to expand existing partnerships. Provide executive oversight of project delivery, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently achieved. Support succession planning and organizational development to position the business for sustained growth. Qualifications 15+ years of leadership experience within the Transmission & Distribution, utility construction, or EPC industries. Proven experience managing large-scale T&D operations, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution programs. Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams and overseeing multiple concurrent projects and programs. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L performance and driving operational improvements. Track record of developing client relationships and supporting business growth initiatives. Executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
