Job Description

Company Overview We are a well-established, successful plumbing company based in Texas with a strong reputation for quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and steady growth. As part of our strategic expansion, we are launching a new HVAC Division and are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to build and lead this division from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape and grow a new business unit within a stable, profitable company that already has strong infrastructure, financial backing, customer base, and industry relationships in place.

Company Ownership / CEO Position Summary We are looking for a seasoned HVAC professional to serve as the President of our new HVAC Division. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building the division from zero to a thriving, profitable operation . You will have full operational authority and direct support from the parent company's resources, but you must be capable of developing strategy, building a team, establishing processes, and driving growth in a competitive market. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and operator who has successfully launched or scaled an HVAC business before and possesses the leadership skills to recruit top talent and manage all day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Build the Division from the
Ground Up :
Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the HVAC division, including market analysis, service offerings (residential, commercial, new construction, service & repair, maintenance agreements, etc.), pricing strategy, and growth targets.
Licensing & Compliance :
Ensure the division maintains all required Texas state and local HVAC contractor licenses, permits, and certifications. Hold or obtain the necessary qualifying party license for the company.
Talent Acquisition & Team Building :
Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-quality HVAC technicians, installers, service managers, dispatchers, and support staff. Build a strong company culture focused on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Operations Leadership :
Oversee all daily operations including scheduling, inventory management, fleet operations, job execution, quality control, and customer service.
Sales & Business Development :
Drive revenue growth through both organic lead generation and strategic partnerships. Work closely with the existing plumbing sales team to create cross-selling opportunities between plumbing and HVAC services.
Financial Management :
Manage divisional P&L, budgeting, job costing, and profitability. Work with ownership to set and achieve financial targets.
Vendor & Supplier Relationships :
Establish relationships with equipment manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and priority support.
Customer Experience :
Ensure the division delivers the same high standards of service that our plumbing company is known for, building long-term customer loyalty and recurring revenue through maintenance programs.
Marketing & Branding :
Collaborate on marketing strategies specific to the HVAC division (website presence, digital marketing, SEO, vehicle branding, etc.).
Safety & Training :
Maintain a strong safety program and ensure ongoing technical and professional development for the team. Qualifications & Requirements Must hold a valid Texas HVAC Contractor License (qualifying party experience preferred). Minimum 8-10+ years of progressive experience in the HVAC industry, with at least 4-5 years in senior leadership (General Manager, Operations Manager, or President/Owner level). Proven experience starting or scaling an HVAC company/division from early stages is strongly preferred. Deep technical knowledge of both residential and commercial HVAC systems, including installation, service, and replacement. Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in P&L management, gross margin improvement, and revenue growth. Excellent leadership and people-development skills with a track record of building high-performing teams. Experience with service-based sales, maintenance agreements, and customer retention strategies. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
