Valwell Technologies Type:
Full-time, senior leadership role About the Opportunity Valwell Technologies is seeking a highly capable, hands-on U.S. General Manager to lead and modernize an established oil and gas equipment manufacturing business in the Houston area. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operational leader to take over an existing business with a strong foundation, modernize its systems and processes, and help build Valwell's long-term U.S. platform. The initial business is currently owner-operated by a retiring founder and requires a manager who can respectfully transition the company into its next stage of growth. The successful candidate will lead daily operations, implement Valwell's back-end technology and procedures, strengthen sales and customer relationships, and help integrate additional U.S. businesses that Valwell may acquire. This role is ideal for someone who has run or helped scale a manufacturing, oilfield services, industrial equipment, or related business and is comfortable working in both the shop and the boardroom. Key Responsibilities Business Leadership & Operations Take responsibility for day-to-day management of the acquired U.S. manufacturing business. Lead operations, production, purchasing, inventory, scheduling, quality control, customer service, and administration. Build trust with existing employees, customers, vendors, and ownership during the transition. Identify operational gaps and implement practical improvements without disrupting the core business. Establish clear accountability, reporting, and performance metrics across the organization. Ensure the business operates safely, efficiently, and profitably. Modernization & Systems Integration Implement Valwell's back-end technology, systems, procedures, and reporting standards. Modernize administrative processes including quoting, order management, inventory tracking, accounting coordination, production planning, and customer records. Work closely with Valwell leadership to standardize processes across the U.S. platform. Improve internal communication, documentation, data quality, and management visibility. Help transition the company from founder-led operations to a scalable, process-driven business. Acquisition Integration Support the evaluation, onboarding, and integration of additional U.S.-based businesses that may be added to the original company. Lead operational upgrades across multiple businesses as Valwell expands its U.S. presence. Help combine systems, teams, vendors, procedures, and reporting structures where appropriate. Identify synergies between businesses, including shared purchasing, sales channels, production capabilities, and administrative support. Sales, Growth & U.S. Market Expansion Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers in the oil and gas sector. Work with Valwell leadership to expand the company's U.S. sales presence. Identify new customers, markets, product opportunities, and revenue streams. Support quoting, customer visits, industry relationships, and business development efforts. Help position Valwell as a stronger supplier to the U.S. oil and gas equipment market. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop employees across operations, administration, sales, and production. Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement. Recruit and develop additional team members as the U.S. business grows. Communicate clearly between U.S. operations and Valwell leadership. Ideal Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be a practical, entrepreneurial manager with strong operational instincts and the ability to modernize an established business without alienating the people who helped build it. They should be comfortable working in a smaller business environment where they may need to solve problems directly, make decisions quickly, and build structure from the ground up. Qualifications Experience managing or leading a manufacturing, oil and gas equipment, industrial products, machine shop, fabrication, valve, pressure control, or related business. Strong understanding of operations, production, inventory, purchasing, quality, customer service, and financial performance. Experience implementing systems, procedures, reporting tools, or process improvements. Proven ability to lead teams through change. Strong business development or customer relationship skills. Comfortable working with ownership and senior leadership on strategy, growth, and acquisitions. Ability to manage multiple priorities across operations, sales, people, and systems. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Experience with business acquisitions, integrations, ERP systems, or operational turnarounds is a strong asset. Existing relationships in the Houston-area oil and gas market are preferred. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Hands-on and practical. Entrepreneurial and growth-minded. Experienced in industrial or oil and gas manufacturing. Strong with people, systems, and operations. Comfortable modernizing an older founder-led business. Capable of leading multiple businesses as the U.S. platform expands. Driven to build something meaningful with long-term upside. Compensation Compensation will be competitive and based on experience. Valwell is open to discussing a structure that rewards performance, growth, and long-term value creation.
