This role serves as the senior technical authority and operational leader for Aphron systems, freshwater drillout systems, fluid optimization, and performance improvement initiatives. This position partners with field operations, engineering, executive leadership, customers, and vendors to ensure fluid strategies align with operational performance, production objectives, safety standards, and financial goals. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, relationship management, and business acumen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development, implementation, and standardization of fluid systems, operational procedures, and technical training programs across all operations. Serve as the company's senior technical authority on fluid chemistry, rheology, drillout hydraulics, and hole cleaning optimization. Direct the application and continuous improvement of Aphron fluid systems for formation protection and loss mitigation. Lead optimization and deployment of freshwater drillout systems to improve operational efficiency and reduce overall costs. Provide technical leadership and real-time support for complex operational challenges including lost circulation, debris transport, torque and drag, and motor performance issues. Ensure consistent execution of fluid programs and operational standards across all field locations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on drillout efficiency, debris removal performance, fluid reliability, and reduction of non-productive time (NPT). Partner with operations management, engineering teams, and executive leadership to align fluid strategies with production targets, operational goals, and corporate objectives. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, operators, vendors, chemical suppliers, and service providers. Participate in pre-job planning, operational reviews, and post-job performance evaluations to optimize fluid performance and operational outcomes. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate standardized, cost-effective solutions across operations. Lead, mentor, and develop fluid specialists, engineers, and operational personnel to build a high-performance technical organization. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Monitor and optimize chemical usage, water consumption, logistics, and supply chain efficiency to improve cost performance. Lead evaluation and implementation of new fluid technologies, monitoring systems, and operational innovations. Ensure compliance with all HSE standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies for fluid-related operational challenges. Analyze operational and performance data to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and support data-driven decision-making. Track and report key performance indicators including drillout times, cost per stage, chemical efficiency, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction. Provide executive-level reporting, technical recommendations, and strategic guidance to support operational and financial objectives. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in oilfield fluids, completions, drillout operations, or related disciplines. Extensive expertise in Aphron systems and freshwater drillout fluid technologies. Proven leadership experience managing technical and operational teams. Strong understanding of fluid chemistry, hydraulics, hole cleaning, and operational optimization. Experience working directly with operators, vendors, and executive leadership. Demonstrated success in cost optimization, operational improvement, and customer relationship management.
COMPUTER
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Advanced data analysis and reporting capabilities using Microsoft Excel and operational performance dashboards. Experience with drilling, completions, and fluid management software applications. Familiarity with hydraulic modeling and fluid simulation programs. Working knowledge of real-time drilling and operational monitoring systems. Proficient in generating technical reports, presentations, and executive-level performance summaries. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and implement new software and digital technologies related to oilfield operations and fluid systems.
