40.00 Department Details The Chief Operating Officer, Health Network, Marshfield provides strategic and operational leadership across the Marshfield Clinic market, supporting the region throughout its operations in Wisconsin and Michigan. This role is responsible for driving performance across the Health Network, including accountability for quality and safety, patient experience, employee and clinician experience, financial performance, operational execution, strategy and growth, and adherence to system strategy and performance metrics. Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer of the Marshfield Clinic market, the Chief Operating Officer, Health Network, Marshfield partners with physician, nursing, and administrative leaders, including the regional Chief Operating Officer, to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care while advancing access and sustainability across the network and its communities. The Chief Operating Officer, Health Network, Marshfield participates in and leads projects with an operational focus in the region and enterprise. Job Summary Responsible of the development of projects, strategies and business ventures for an assigned health network. Apply advanced technical knowledge of health network operations, along with external market practices to solve highly complex challenges. Exercise management responsibility over a network to ensure the delivery of efficient services designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. Develop and foster effective collaboration between divisions, governance, facility and medical staff leadership, and other affiliated services, inside and outside of the enterprise to ensure an integrated approach to providing services. Focus on systems, program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance, clinical management measures, physician relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement, internal communication and consensus building. Ensure the enterprise-wide focus of disparate resources on optimally satisfying the health care needs of those served. Expand the enterprise footprint through relationship-building with hospital or health system leaders and boards. Manage and develop outreach activities and referral networks to ensure the forming of effective partnerships that facilitate the development of a comprehensive, integrated and geographically dispersed health care system. Represent the enterprise to internal and external stakeholders by acting as a representative that fosters the positive image related to its mission, vision and values. Must demonstrate a track record of success working closely with physicians and leaders to improve operations and cost. Required to display strong business acumen, a sophisticated knowledge of health care funding and experience in competitive marketplaces, with the ability to make complex and difficult decisions. Qualifications Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA) or a master's degree in a related field required. MHA preferred. Minimum of seven years of experience in executive health care administration with progressively increasing responsibilities required. Minimum of ten years of experience in hospital operations at the administrative level and experience with local, regional and national health care administration organizations preferred.
