Minimum of 5 plus years of progressive experience in contracts management, with significant experience in government contracting and/or public sector contracts. Experience with contract drafting and negotiation skills, with ability to independently redline and resolve terms and conditions. Proven experience leading RFP (Request for Proposals) or Goverment Bidding and coordinating inputs across cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate, compliant, and compelling responses. Minimum of 3 years plus with public procurement concepts, compliance obligations, and bid requirements; ability to interpret and operationalize complex solicitation documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain risk and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.WE VALUE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience Excellent project management skills, including prioritization in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing solicitations and submissions for cooperative vehicles such as HGAC and/or NPP.gov (or similar programs) Experience supporting the public safety sector Paralegal background or prior experience working closely with in-house counsel on complex commercial and government terms Experience with additional cooperative purchasing programs, state/local government procurements, and high-volume bid environments Familiarity with pricing strategies for public sector contracts (e.g., language escalation, discounting structures, compliance with most-favored pricing or price list requirements) Key Responsibilities Lead the full contract lifecycle for government/cooperative purchasing opportunities, including intake, risk review, drafting, negotiation, execution, and post-award administration Own end-to-end RFP and solicitation responses ensuring strict compliance with all requirements, formats, and deadlines Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions to balance compliance obligations with commercial objectives, margin protection, and operational feasibility Develop and maintain standard templates, playbooks, compliance checklists, and submission processes to improve speed, quality, and audit readiness Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Product/Engineering (as applicable) to align scope, pricing, exceptions, and deliverables before submission and award Identify and communicate contract risks (e.g., indemnity, warranty, insurance, flow-downs, pricing constraints, audit rights) and recommend mitigation strategies Support renewal planning, amendments, and extensions; track key dates and obligations to ensure ongoing compliance and performance Serve as an internal subject matter expert on cooperative purchasing rules and public procurement requirements relevant to our portfolio.
