Full Job Description Shared Services:
Industrial Relations•(Full-Time, Day Shift)•
Job Summary:
The Contract Analyst is responsible for the drafting, negotiation and processing of various types of research and non-research agreements awarded to LLUH entities by governmental, non-governmental sponsors and subcontracts under governmental or non-governmental awards in accordance with LLUH and sponsor policies. Interacts with sponsors, academic institutions, federal agencies and investigators to ensure the investigator and the institution are able to meet obligations and are in agreement with the final terms. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's Degree preferred. One year of processing and negotiating agreements, sponsored project budgeting and grant experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of intellectual property, including copyright law, ownership, licensing, and protection of creative works, indemnification, insurance, publication policies, care and treatment of laboratory animals, protection of human subjects, accounting principles etc. Must have a working knowledge of legal aspects of contracting, the ability to understand contract language and the ability to effectively negotiate contract language and terms. Knowledge of Loma Linda University & Medical Center is desirable. Excellent communication, writing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and careful attention to detail. Ability to communicate in English effectively; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; attend meetings and obtain signatures from various locations on and off campus. Able to deal with people effectively, discretely, and diplomatically, especially in negotiating or in a project team environment. Able to provide high quality customer service in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible in responding to job demands and changing priorities. Able to multi-task, and work independently in a team environment; thrive in a dynamic environment through project organization, working within deadlines, practicing discretion with sensitive and confidential information, making decisions, and using good judgment. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications:
Intellectual property certificate preferred. If holding a Juris Doctor degree, successful passing of the California Bar exam required.
