Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detailed oriented Contracts Manager who will be responsible for the administration, negotiation, compliance, and management of U.S. Government and prime contractor contracts for an aerospace and defense component manufacturing organization. This position serves as the primary contractual interface between the company, government agencies, and prime contractors, ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements, federal regulations, and company policies while supporting business growth and operational execution. The Government Contracts Manager works closely with Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure successful contract performance throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Review, negotiate, administer, and manage government contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and regulated agreements. Analyze solicitations, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and contract modifications. Lead contract negotiations with government agencies, prime contractors, and subcontractors. Ensure contractual obligations are properly communicated to internal stakeholders. Manage contract modifications, change orders, equitable adjustments, and claims. Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle. Maintain complete and accurate contract files and records.
Ensure compliance with:
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Buy American Act (BAA), Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). Cybersecurity requirements including NIST 800-171 and CMMC as applicable. Interpret contract clauses and assess business impacts and risks. Support internal and external compliance audits. Participate in proposal development activities and contract reviews. Review contractual requirements during the bid and proposal phase. Identify contractual, financial, technical, and compliance risks. Support pricing and proposal teams regarding contract requirements. Assist in the preparation of representation, certifications, and compliance documentation. Serve as the primary contractual point of contact for government customers and prime contractors. Coordinate responses to customer contractual inquiries. Participate in customer meetings, program reviews, and contract negotiations. Support issue resolution and dispute management. Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual risks. Provide guidance to leadership regarding contract interpretation and obligations. Escalate significant contractual risks and compliance concerns. Develop recommendations to protect company interests while maintaining customer relationships.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, or related field required, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5-10 years of government contract administration or management experience. Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or government manufacturing programs required. Experience with FAR, DFARS, and government compliance requirements required. Experience administering both prime contracts and subcontracts preferred. Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) contracts strongly preferred. Proficiency with ERP systems (Infor Visual), Microsoft Office Suite, and contract management software such as portals/websites. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English. Knowledge of government procurement processes and contracting methods. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills. Must be well organized, take initiative, and be able to meet deadlines. Technical background in electric motors, fans, pumps, actuators, or air conditioning systems would be helpful. Security Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required. Must comply with all export control and security requirements applicable to aerospace and defense programs.
Physical Requirements:
Office environment with regular interaction across manufacturing operations. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
