What to Expect Tesla is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Supply Chain Legal Team, supporting procurement operations for goods and services. This role will be based in one of Tesla's offices in Austin, Texas, or the Bay Area, California. The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial lawyer with a passion for accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. This position offers a unique opportunity for a proactive and entrepreneurial lawyer to contribute to a fast-growing, dynamic company by providing strategic legal support and fostering collaboration across global teams. What You'll Do
Manage a high volume and wide range of commercial contracts, including semiconductor-related supply agreements, technology licensing agreements, development agreements, services agreements (including cloud-based services), software license agreements, and confidentiality agreements
Provide advice on a wide variety of strategic, regulatory, and transactional matters for the supply chain team and other internal teams
Facilitate resolution of legal disputes by drafting and responding to breach of contract claims and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements
Prepare and maintain contract forms to support Tesla's businesses and areas of operation
Liaise with colleagues worldwide to ensure consistency of contracts and risk allocation across various Tesla businesses What You'll Bring
J.D. with current license to practice in at least one U.S. state or Washington, DC
Minimum of 10 years of practice experience, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred
Excellent communication skills with business-level to near native-level fluency in English (verbal and written), with Spanish, German, and additional languages as a plus
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, make complex cost/benefit assessments, and identify pragmatic and creative legal and business solutions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment
Quick and flexible learner with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity and risk

Expected Compensation
$212,000 - $342,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
