Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to lead the development, coordination, and submission of high-quality proposals in a deadline-driven environment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can craft compelling narratives, manage multiple priorities, and ensure compliance with client requirements. Based in Riverside, California, you will work closely with internal teams to deliver winning proposals that align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire proposal lifecycle, from opportunity identification through final submission and post-submission analysis.
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize pursuits based on strategic importance and resource availability.
- Develop and oversee proposal schedules, ensuring all milestones and compliance requirements are met.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and other stakeholders to gather required inputs and ensure timely delivery.
- Craft clear, persuasive narratives that align with client priorities and evaluation criteria.
- Lead proposal kickoff meetings, assign responsibilities, and maintain accountability among contributors.
- Oversee quality control by conducting thorough reviews and ensuring consistency in tone, structure, and messaging.
- Support interview preparation by developing strategy, messaging, and materials for presentation.
- Partner with graphic designers to align visual elements with written content for cohesive deliverables.
- Maintain accurate pursuit records and contribute to the improvement of reusable templates and proposal content. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in proposal management, pursuit marketing, or business development communications, ideally within the architecture, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, as well as strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to write persuasive, well-structured proposals that integrate complex information from multiple sources.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with compliance tools, proposal tracking systems, or content management platforms such as HubSpot.
- Strong command of English grammar and detail-oriented written communication, ensuring error-free deliverables.
- Experience in developing interview strategies and materials to support proposal presentations.
