Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Architect (Construction Management) to provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT . This role supports major renovation and construction efforts within an active VA medical facility by providing architectural and construction management support in accordance with Government requirementsRequirements:
Ability to perform full-time onsite architectural support at an occupied VA medical facility. Working knowledge of federal construction processes and applicable VA standards, codes, and guidelines. Experience supporting architectural elements including building envelope, interiors, finishes, life safety, accessibility, and space planning within healthcare facilities. Ability to review construction documents, contractor submittals, RFIs/RFCs, schedules, and proposed changes and provide architectural recommendations to the Government COR. Experience conducting site observations and identifying architectural deficiencies, discrepancies, and non-conforming work. Ability to support schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk considerations related to architectural scope. Experience maintaining project documentation including inspection reports, daily logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, and As-built and closeout documentation Ability to participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders. Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code, ADA, UFAS, and other applicable healthcare-related regulatory requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Kahua or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred. Relevant Experience Experience providing architectural or construction management support for healthcare, VA, or federally funded construction projects. Experience supporting renovation and major construction projects within active medical facilities. Experience reviewing architectural construction for compliance with contract documents, codes, and life safety requirements. Prior VA, VISN, Department of Defense, or other federal healthcare facility experience strongly preferred. Education A degree in Architecture from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or demonstrated architectural experience in a construction or facilities environment. Minimum of 5 years of architectural experience; healthcare or federal facilities experience strongly preferred.
