Maintenance Team Leader - John Deere Davenport Works This is a high-visibility leadership role offering a long-term 2+ year contract paying up to $46/hr , including 2 Weeks of PTO . You will be directly responsible for supervising, guiding, and supporting a team of skilled trades union members (electricians, pipefitters, and mechanics) to maximize equipment uptime and enforce a world-class safety culture.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $46/hr (W2).

Location:

100% Onsite in Davenport, IA (Local candidates only).

Duration:

2+ Years.

Shift Flexibility:

Must be open to 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) or 3rd shift (9:30 PM - 6:00 AM) with occasional overtime as production demands.

Core Responsibilities Frontline Supervision:

Spend the vast majority of your time on the floor actively supervising and assisting a team of union skilled trades, including electricians, pipefitters, and R5 mechanics.

Preventative Maintenance:

Lead and support the facility's preventative maintenance program; execute weekly preventative maintenance audits to increase operational visibility and efficiency.

Cost Structure Control:

Partner closely with the Senior Maintenance Team Leader to ensure the maintenance organization aligns with and maintains its budgetary cost structures.

Safety Leadership:

Actively drive and engage in the site's Maintenance Safety Culture, ensuring all tasks adhere to strict safety protocols.

Onsite Logistics:

Regularly operate a John Deere-owned Gator to navigate the expansive facility floor and transport tools or parts.

Required Skills & Experience Leadership Capability:

Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate, and direct a diverse team of skilled tradespeople.

Technical Savvy:

Hands-on experience working with SAP for work orders and maintenance tracking.

Education & Experience:

Open to experienced supervisors or recent engineering/technical graduates who possess the communication skills and confidence to work directly with seasoned skilled trades on the floor. What Makes You Stand Out Direct experience working within a union environment and managing collective bargaining agreements. Strong background in engineering or a heavy industrial maintenance discipline. Proven track record of managing and scaling a structured preventative maintenance program.
