Job Description

Job Summary Primary day to day focus for this job is the intake and management of contracting requests, the support of the implementation of critical software platforms that support Giant Eagle's contract lifecycle across all Giant Eagle's client groups industries (Admin/HR, Pharmacy, Supermarket, Merchandising, Facilities & Services, eCommerce, Logistics/Supply Chain, Indirect Sourcing, Information Technology, Marketing and Finance). The role of Contract Manager requires the individual to be well skilled in both administrative and project management functions, including and skills in commercial and contract analysis, providing advice and guidance on contract interpretation and drafting documents and legal summaries as well as understanding and communicating the key risks and obligations of contracting to business stakeholders.
Job Description Key Competencies:
Experience Required:
4+ year experience in law firm and/or corporation.
Experience Required:
Contract and commercial drafting and assessment experience required, including a level of client (internal or external) engagement. Experience in ensuring consistent administration of contracting policies and the management of all proposals and contracts. This generally includes oversight of the contract lifecycle process, as well as development of specific standards for submission of review requests, contract negotiations and document management . Experience working with the iManage contract repository, DocuSign e-signature platform and HighQ, the contract management software required to support the contracting function.
Education Required:
Bachelors Degree in law; Paralegal Certificate Preferred Job Responsibilities Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts including services, consulting, marketing, licensing, non-disclosure and other commercial and technology related agreements. Understand the Giant Eagle structure, its products, programs and services offerings in order to identify risks, develop solutions, mitigation and negotiation strategies. Perform risk analysis review for all contractual documents and recommend mitigating options to business stakeholders. Create and maintain relationships with vendors, customers and internal business units needed to fulfill the contract management function. Perform general contract administration tasks, such as managing the contract intake mailbox, assigning reviews, preparing and sending notifications and status updates as well as providing commercial contract support to business function teams and performing operational research to support proposals and contract development. Support of software vendor implementations and development of systems to track requests for reviews and maintain deadlines on review deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners, vendors and internal clients about contractual issues. Manage organizational contract development and management activities and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance. Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational and management databases and securely maintained. Prepare and provide various reports related to the contracting function, including the performance of the contracting tools and reports of contract types and status. Monitor critical contract obligations to assess and consider for modification, close-out, extension, or renewals. Draft business documents like notice letters, change control notices, addendums and amendments to existing agreements, as needed.
