Job Description

Job Title:
Contracts Manager Job Description The Contracts Manager provides on-site guidance to business units and project teams on contract management and policy compliance, with a focus on federal government contracts. This role initiates, tracks, and monitors contract changes, deliverables, correspondence, and risks, while maintaining all related documentation. The Contracts Manager ensures that government contracts are managed in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements, and may support multiple engagements or dedicate full-time attention to a single complex agreement. Responsibilities + Provide on-site advice to business and project teams on contract management practices and policy compliance, particularly in a federal government contracting environment. + Initiate, track, and monitor contract changes, deliverables, correspondence, and risks, ensuring all related documentation remains accurate and up to date. + Enable and oversee the management of government contracts in alignment with company policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements. + Manage one or more contract engagements, or serve full-time on a single engagement depending on the size and complexity of the agreement. + Respond to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations, interpretations, and revisions, providing clear and timely guidance. + Identify contractual risks and issues, propose practical alternatives, and recommend solutions that best support the business and client objectives. + Review and manage contractual obligations of all parties, conducting continual review to ensure all terms and conditions are fully met. + Prepare and distribute information on contract status, compliance, modifications, and key milestones to stakeholders and leadership. + Consult with and escalate contractual, business, or contract management positioning issues to senior leadership when they cannot be resolved satisfactorily by the project team within agreed timeframes. + Implement and oversee contract management processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency across engagements. + Manage the daily workload of assigned contract management personnel and project or business staff who support the contract management function. + Serve as the primary contact between project teams or business units and the Legal function to ensure all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly. + Act as a liaison between the organization and external clients or vendors on contractual matters. + Ensure that assigned contract management, project, or business personnel adhere to established company policies and procedures. + Inform project teams of contractual requirements and monitor their compliance with contractual obligations throughout the life of the engagement. + Develop, refine, and integrate contract management tools, templates, methods, and processes to support the engagement and improve consistency and quality. + Build and maintain a solid understanding of the organization's major business areas, such as system integration and outsourcing, to communicate effectively with executives and provide relevant contractual advice. + Provide training and guidance to contract management personnel to support their development and ensure consistent application of contract management standards. Essential Skills + At least 7 years of contract management experience in a federal government contracting environment. + Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and experience with civilian federal contracts. + Demonstrated experience managing complex government contract obligations, changes, and compliance requirements. + Proven ability to respond to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions. + Experience identifying and mitigating contractual risks and issues and recommending effective alternatives. + Executive-level presentation skills, including the ability to present to leaders and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs). + Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance or public trust, if required. + Bachelor's degree (completed). + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters. + Proven ability to manage workload and oversee contract management personnel and supporting project staff. Work Environment This role operates in a professional office environment supporting federal government contracts. The Contracts Manager collaborates closely with project teams, business units, legal professionals, and external clients or vendors. The position requires being local enough to attend the office in person approximately once per quarter, with the remainder of the work typically performed remotely or in a flexible setting as determined by business needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
