Job Description
Position Summary The Grants and Financial Manager is responsible for the financial stewardship and grant management of CASA of New River. This position ensures the organization's fiscal integrity, compliance with federal, state, and private funding requirements, and alignment of financial practices with the organization's mission to advocate for abused and neglected children. This role serves as the operational bridge between programmatic impact and financial accountability—overseeing grant budgets, financial reporting, compliance, and internal financial systems to ensure sustainability and transparency. Key Responsibilities Grant Management & Compliance Manage the full lifecycle of grants, including budget development, tracking, reporting, and closeout Ensure compliance with all funding requirements (VOCA, National CASA, state, local, and private funders) Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding restrictions Prepare and submit timely financial reports, reimbursement requests, and supporting documentation Collaborate with the Executive Director on grant proposals, budget narratives, and funding strategies Maintain organized grant files and documentation for audit readiness Financial Management & Oversight Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) Track and allocate expenses across multiple funding sources and cost centers Reconcile bank accounts, monitor cash flow, and ensure proper internal controls Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and Board of Directors Support the development and monitoring of the organizational budget Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial standards and best practices Audit & Compliance Support Lead preparation for financial audits, grant audits, and monitoring reviews Maintain documentation required for federal, state, and private audits Ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit financial regulations Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and fiscal sponsors as needed Data, Reporting & Systems Management Maintain financial tracking systems that align with programmatic outcomes and reporting requirements Support integration of financial data with case management systems (e.g., Optima) when needed Generate reports that demonstrate fiscal accountability and program impact to stakeholders Organizational Leadership & Collaboration Work closely with the Executive Director to support strategic financial planning and sustainability Provide financial insights to inform organizational decision-making Support Board Finance Committee with reports and analysis Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate expense tracking and grant alignment Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit Management, or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit financial management and/or grant administration Demonstrated experience managing government grants (VOCA experience strongly preferred) Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple funding streams Preferred Experience with National
CASA/GAL
