Job Description
Responsible for financial management, budgetary oversight, procurement and related business activities for ITS. Ensure the effective allocation of ITS internal resources through budget development and execution, and careful monitoring of procurement efforts.
Manage the processing of capital appropriations for several areas within ITS, to include the preparation of appropriations, securing vendor quotes and technical specifications and researching the best pricing alternatives.
Manage vendor relationships with billing staff and account managers. Consult with ITS staff on procurement best practices. Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
Essential Functions:
- Helps monitor IT capital & operating budgets and work with appropriate staff to troubleshoot and resolve open issues.
- Processes PeopleSoft requisitions, purchasing cards, and budget transfers.
- Work with ITS directors to collect and consolidate information for operating and capital forecasts.
- Collect and analyze spending trends.
- Maintain an updated list of contractors, monitor their actual cost and forecast total spending.
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the Controller's, Budget and Purchasing Offices.
- Be flexible and willing to take on other administrative duties as required to support the ITS mission.
- Must be able to view the University at-large, not just the department, and be open to change.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule at the discretion of management (NOT a fully remote option). Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and full-time equivalent hiring ranges: Senior Acquisitions & Fiscal Administrator
- Salary range: $72,600
- $90,750
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience with operating and capital budgets, procurement and licensing.
Acquisitions & Fiscal Administrator
- Salary range: $61,050
- $76,300
Minimum of three years of experience with operating and capital budgets, procurement and licensing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
- Adept at managing internal customer relationships.
- Possess financial analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of generally acceptable business practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external contacts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Business acumen for an IT environment.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials or related software packages.
- Professionalism and accountability.
- Problem solve through collaboration and analysis.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of BC business practices and procedures is helpful.
- May be required to work additional hours to meet project/unit deadlines and timeframes.
