Position Description & Qualifications Serco is seeking a Senior Manager, Contracts to lead the administration of complex contracts and oversee a team of contracts professionals. This role requires strong leadership, sound business judgment, and strategic thinking to support corporate objectives and drive successful contract outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring experience with construction contracts and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of contract policies, procedures, operating practices, and performance standards across division and program areas. You will serve as a senior advisor on significant contractual matters, partnering across Finance, Legal, Capture, Proposal, and Program teams to resolve complex issues, manage risk, and support business growth across a diverse portfolio of programs and opportunities. This position is ideally based in one of the following locations and follows a hybrid work schedule of 2-3 days per week in the office. Fully remote work may be considered for the right candidate. San Diego, CA Colorado Springs, CO Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA Herndon, VA Charleston, SC In this role, you will: Serve as the senior contracts lead and trusted advisor to internal leadership and Customer Contracting Officers on high-impact contractual matters across a portfolio of programs. Lead cross-functional coordination with Finance, Legal, Capture, Proposal, Program, and executive leadership to resolve complex contract matters, align business objectives, and support sound decision-making. Provide strategic guidance on contractual business matters, including financial, operational, and profit and loss implications, to support leadership decisions and portfolio performance. Provide contractual leadership for proposal and capture efforts, shaping contract structures, negotiation positions, and risk strategies for priority new business opportunities. Lead the assessment of solicitation and contract risk, providing strategic direction on compliance, risk mitigation, and business positioning for major pursuits and active programs. Develop negotiation strategies and lead complex negotiations involving contractual changes, claims, disputes, and key business terms with significant operational or financial impact. Manage a variety of contract types throughout the full contract lifecycle, including the bid process, administration, modification, termination, and closeout. Review and manage contractual obligations to ensure company compliance with all terms and conditions. Identify changes in contract scope, requirements, and cost impacts, and lead the development of equitable adjustments and change proposals. Analyze complex contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business procedures, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. Lead the identification, development, and implementation of contract policies, procedures, governance standards, and best practices to strengthen compliance, consistency, and operational effectiveness across the organization. Lead strategic initiatives and special projects that advance business objectives, improve contract operations, and enhance the organization's overall contracts function.
