Job Description
About Us Cooper Commercial Construction is a growing general contractor focused on delivering high-quality commercial projects across North Texas. We take pride in our relationships, attention to detail, and doing things the right way. We are looking for a key team member to help strengthen our financial operations and support the continued growth of our company.
- Position Overview This role will oversee the company's financial operations, contract administration, and project financial performance.
- Key Responsibilities Financial Management
- Manage A/R, A/P, and general ledger
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning Project Financial Oversight
- Track job costs vs. budgets
- Monitor project profitability and margins
- Assist with WIP reporting
- Identify cost overruns and financial risks Billing & Cash Flow
- Oversee client billing and collections
- Manage retainage and lien waivers
- Improve cash flow timing and consistency Contracts & Risk
- Review and manage client and subcontractor contracts
- Ensure alignment between contracts, billing, and project execution
- Identify risks related to payment terms and scope gaps Process Improvement
- Improve financial systems and reporting
- Provide insights to leadership on financial performance
- Support estimating with historical cost data
- Qualifications
- 3-7+ years in accounting/finance (construction preferred)
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction financials
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to think critically and provide insight, not just process data
