About WSDOT The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a multimodal agency with a global reputation for excellence. In addition to maintaining over 20,000 lane miles of state highway and 4,100 bridges, WSDOT leads an award-winning Active Transportation Plan, manages the world's longest floating bridge, and operates the largest ferry system in the nation! The Opportunity WSDOT is currently seeking an Agreement Specialist (TE3) in Wenatchee, WA with our North Central Region. This position supports the Region Program Management Office as an Agreements Engineer/Specialist that develops and administers contracts/agreements with professional consulting engineering firms and local, state and federal agencies which contribute to delivering transportation projects consistent with WSDOT's mission. What to Expect Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Agreement Specialist will: Serve as a Region resource for developing an array of agreements utilizing agency manuals and policies. Research agency resources and policies to determine appropriate type of agreement to utilize. Communicate with region support offices and provide/develop standard and non-standard agreements for transportation projects. Communicate with Region Area Consultant Liaison (ACL) and provide/develop consultant agreements to support projects. Prepare draft and/or proofread agreements for region support offices or consultants. Attend regional meetings (pre-construction conferences, project assignment meetings, project status meetings, and other meetings with consultants), as requested. Enter and maintain Region agreements in WSDOT Agreement Review Transmittal (ART) database or Consultant Agreements System. Research and deliver accounting codes. Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate among internal teams, centralized service offices, consultants, public agencies, and private parties to develop, execute, and administer agreements and related work activities. Records Management & Attention to
Detail:
Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, and manage agreement and contract files throughout their life cycle in accordance with record retention policies, ensuring accurate documentation and accessibility.
Time Management Skills :
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent agreements, projects, or administrative tasks by organizing workload, prioritizing deadlines, and adapting to changing demands while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of work.
Analytical Review & Technical Accuracy:
Demonstrated ability to review scopes of work, budgets, agreement terms, and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and providing clear feedback and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Growth Mindset:
Actively demonstrates a commitment to learning and growth.
Service-Oriented:
Demonstrates a willingness to take action to meet the needs of others. It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
Contract & Agreement Administration:
Demonstrated knowledge of preparing, executing, administering, and closing a variety of standard and non-standard agreements, including tracking, documentation, and compliance with established policies, procedures, and retention requirements.
Agreement File Management & Compliance:
Proven competency in maintaining complete, accurate, and compliant agreement files from initiation through close-out and destruction, in accordance with records retention and public disclosure requirements. Technical Competence in
