Full Job Description Overview:
The Quality Manager is a member of the Mobis US Alabama (MUA) QC team and is responsible for providing technical QC support to all areas of the Module operation and providing leadership and guidance to QC Team Members and Supplier Quality.
Responsibilities:
(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.) Manage technical support for all areas of the plant in assessment, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Systems that meet or exceed customer and TS16949 standards. Provide technical support to QC from parts quality, process quality, and 0 Km claims in customer plant. Lead Quality team consisting of Part Quality (Measuring room), Process (Patrol) Quality, Final Inspection (Keeper), Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) and Customer Quality. Define specifications for good and defective products from inspection, parts, process, and 0 Km claims. Lead countermeasure actions based on 8D-Report procedures. Review customer approval to 0 Km claim countermeasure actions in Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS). Review and approve inspection reports for special characteristics (Total Quality, Run Out, Press Pull Out Force). Analyze Key Quality Characteristics (KQCs) statistically based on Statistical Quality Control (SQC). Review and approve wheel alignment deviation from those of customer inspection records. Lead quality activities for development for new car line using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Mercedes Development System (MDS). Read and interpret 3D and 2D Drawings and manufacturing aides. Manage control of product quality through the development and use of Process Failure Mode Effects. Analysis (P-FMEAs), Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Operator Work Instructions, and Quality Alerts. Approve Engineering Changes (EC) in terms of quality impact. Comply with and provide safety in the workplace, including attendance at safety meetings as well as conducting quality and safety meetings when necessary. Manage customer satisfaction by quality member who is first contact for 0 Km claim in customer plant. Review and check on summary of quality index (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly). Prepare and lead actions from all departments for customer audit. Manage measuring room and calibration done by inspectors and measuring room coordinator. Analyze measuring system based on MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis).

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field plus 5 years of experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or management role in manufacturing

Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Experience in automotive assembly and/or automotive manufacturing Experience dealing with an automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Knowledge of IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 certification requirements Knowledge of APQP and MDS (
MDS:
Mercedes Development System, if possible) Knowledge of VDA-RGA Knowledge of Mercedes Benz PPA (Part Production Approval) Procedure Knowledge of Mercedes Benz Quality IT system (SQMS) Language English and German (German, if possible) Three (3) years or more experience with forging, machining, surface treatment (Painting) and assembly process
