Job Description:
Corporate Associate Attorney (ECVC / Startup Law) About the Company Grellas Shah LLP's corporate practice specializes in providing legal services to emerging tech and other ventures. Our practice focuses on critical life-cycle events such as formation, hiring, incentives, funding, acquiring, and positioning for acquisition. Deal work, such as venture financings and acquisitions, are a core part of our practice. We also often serve in an outside general counsel role for our clients, handling day-to-day legal needs. Role Overview This is a Corporate Associate Attor ney role focused on emerging companies and venture capital work. You will advise startups, founders, and investors on venture financings, acquisitions, and broader corporate matters. The work includes both deal execution and ongoing client advisory. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. Depending on the matter, you may lead transactions or work alongside partners. You will work directly with clients and be involved in decisions that shape deals and company outcomes. The role offers direct exposure to partners and meaningful responsibility early on. Responsibilities Advise clients on venture financings across stages, including seed, Series A, and growth equity Work on M&A transactions and other corporate deals Support or lead transactions depending on scope and experience Provide ongoing legal guidance to startup clients acting as outside counsel Manage multiple matters and transactional deadlines Work directly with founders, investors, and company leadership Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on active matters Required Qualifications JD with strong academic achievement Experience in corporate law, including venture financings and/or M&A Background in an emerging companies or startup-focused practice Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills Ability to build and maintain client relationships State bar membership Preferred Qualifications Experience working directly with founders and investors Experience leading or running parts of transactions Exposure to both deal work and ongoing corporate advisory Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $230Kto $250K depending on experience Bonus as per company policy Health insurance Dental and vision coverage 401(k) match Paid Time Off Work Model Remote, with preference for candidates in the Bay Area No travel requirement
