Job Description

JOB DUTIES
Description Venice Family Clinic is a leader in providing comprehensive, high-quality primary health care to people in need with compassion, dignity, and respect. In November 2021, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care, uniting more than a century of experience helping patients regardless of their income or insurance status. The organization now has more than 500 staff who serve 45,000 people from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay. We have a growing network of locations plus multiple mobile clinics and an expansive street medicine program for people experiencing homelessness. Read more about us at venicefamilyclinic.org Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the senior dentist will Work with key personnel to create, plan, implement, and report on the dental program for Venice Family Clinic. Provide dental services to Clinic patients. Work with the Director of Clinic Operations and Dental Operations Supervisor to provide oversight on the day-to-day operations of the dental program.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications Required Current California dental license. Current DEA license. DDS or DMD degree Minimum 5-7 years of healthcare experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role, required. Experience in FQHC or community health settings, preferred. Demonstrated skill in diagnosing dental disease from the clinical exam and radiographic analysis Demonstrated skill in developing an appropriate treatment plan Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing restorative procedures safely under local anesthetic and nitrous oxide sedation. Demonstrated skill in performing extractions. Demonstrated skill in performing emergency palliative treatment including pulpotomies and pulpectomies. Demonstrated skill in providing treatment of periodontal disease including scaling and root planning. Bilingual verbal skills in English and Spanish, preferred. Ability to accurately and neatly enter patient data in patient charts. Ability to interact effectively with people of various socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to deal with patient complaints with tact and diplomacy. Ability to work with volunteers. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
