Work Location Madrona Apartments | 2213 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 The Corcoran | 1350 Corcoran St NW, Washington, DC 20009 Job Summary The Property Manager is responsible for assisting the regional property manager in maintaining the physical asset and maximizing the financial returns from that asset in accordance with the company's objectives. The Property Manager should be a self-starter, who understands multifamily management and can apply sound judgment to make property decisions and motivate team members to deliver the superior level of service defined by Borger Residential. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Manage and maintain positive relationships with property owners, tenants, and vendors Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments Perform data entry and maintain organized files for properties and tenants Upsell additional services or amenities to tenants when appropriate Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient processes Negotiate contracts with vendors for property maintenance and repairs Coordinate and oversee property maintenance activities, including scheduling repairs and inspections Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to property management Assist with facilities management, including coordinating cleaning services, landscaping, and security Review market research to determine rental rates and implement strategies to maintain competitive pricing Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, assist with preparation of budgets, and manage operating expenses Qualifications Previous experience in property management or a related field is preferred Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in data entry and file management Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with property owners, tenants, and vendors Ability to negotiate contracts and handle conflict resolution in a professional manner Knowledge of property maintenance practices and procedures Familiarity with facilities management principles is a plus Holds a DC Property Manager's License or can obtain licensure within 120 days of employment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment:
Employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
While performing duties of this job, employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects and documents; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Vision:
Must be sufficient to read reports, instructions, correspondence, and any other written material pertinent to your job.
Hearing:
Must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, both in person and by telephone.
Speech:
Must be coherent to promote and market BR.
Physical Mobility:
Must be sufficient to move about in office and properties including climbing stairs and to drive an automobile and be able to operate office machines.
