About the Opportunity An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a junior project finance associate to join a market?leading energy and infrastructure finance team based in New York. This role offers hands?on exposure to complex, high?profile project financings at an early stage of your career, with genuine responsibility and close partner interaction. The position is ideal for lawyers looking to build a strong technical foundation in true project finance, while also developing a broader understanding of how large?scale energy and infrastructure projects are structured, financed and delivered. About My Client My client is a global law firm with a long?established projects and energy practice, recognised for advising on some of the most significant energy transition and infrastructure matters in the market. The team works with leading sponsors, developers, lenders and investors on transactions across renewables, power and next?generation infrastructure. The New York office is a key hub for this work and is known for offering strong training, real mentorship and a supportive team environment, particularly for junior associates. The culture is high?performing but collegiate, with a clear emphasis on developing lawyers properly from the outset. The Role From early on, associates are involved across the lifecycle of deals rather than being confined to narrow workstreams. You will gain exposure not only to core financing mechanics, but also to structuring considerations, risk allocation and transaction strategy, making this an excellent platform for building long?term project finance expertise. Responsibilities Supporting sponsors and lenders on domestic and cross?border project finance transactions Assisting with construction and term debt facilities for renewable energy and infrastructure projects Gaining exposure to debt structuring and tax?driven elements of financings, including: tax credit monetisation tax equity and partnership structures transferable tax credit arrangements (TCTAs) Drafting and reviewing key transaction documents, including financing agreements, security documents and related ancillary materials Assisting with due diligence and risk assessments across commercial, construction and financing risks Playing an active role in transaction management, coordinating across internal specialists (tax, regulatory, real estate) and external counterparties Developing general market awareness, including trends in renewables finance, investor appetite and evolving deal structures Qualifications 1-3 years' experience as a project finance associate with experience gained in a reputable law firm Exposure to renewables, energy or infrastructure transactions Interest in developing expertise in tax credit, tax equity and structured renewables financings Strong drafting skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness Comfortable working in a fast?paced transactional environment and taking responsibility early Why This Role Stands Out Junior?friendly platform with real responsibility and high?quality training in New York.
