$30/hour Position Summary Bailey's Sports (and Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy) is seeking an energetic, organized, and passionate Camp Director to lead the planning, development, staffing, and operation of all camp programming across our organization. This is a leadership role responsible for creating exceptional camp experiences for children and families while overseeing staff, logistics, curriculum, safety, customer experience, and program growth. The Camp Director serves as the primary leader for all camp operations and works closely with Bailey's Sports leadership to expand and enhance camp offerings throughout Central Oregon. This role combines hands-on leadership during camps with year-round planning, preparation, staff development, and program management. Tumbling & Cheer Partner facilities throughout our community As our organization grows, this position will play a key role in developing new camp opportunities, strengthening community partnerships, and creating unforgettable experiences for children and families. Primary Responsibilities:
Camp Planning & Program Development Design, organize, and implement camp programs throughout the year Develop weekly schedules, themes, activities, and curriculum Create age-appropriate experiences that are fun, engaging, and safe Coordinate supplies, equipment, staffing, and facility needs Continuously improve camp offerings based on feedback and outcomes Camp Operations Serve as the lead administrator and manager for all camps Ensure camps operate safely, efficiently, and according to company standards Manage camp logistics across multiple facilities and locations Oversee camper check-in, check-out, and daily operations Respond to operational challenges and solve problems in real time Staff Leadership Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and supervise camp staff Create staffing schedules and assignments Lead staff meetings and ongoing training Provide coaching, accountability, and performance feedback Foster a positive and professional team culture Family & Community Relations Build positive relationships with campers and families Communicate professionally with parents and guardians Address questions, concerns, and customer service needs Serve as an ambassador for Bailey's Sports within the community Growth & Strategy Identify opportunities to expand camp offerings Develop partnerships with schools and community organizations Support marketing efforts and program promotion Help establish systems and processes that improve camp operations and profitability Schedule Expectations:
Summer The Camp Director is expected to be actively present and leading camp operations during summer camps. Typical camp schedule:
Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM Additional planning, staffing, administrative, and preparation time will occur outside camp hours. School Year Camp schedules fluctuate based on: School holidays Teacher workdays Winter break Spring break School closures At Bailey's Sports, when school is out, camp is in. Applicants should be comfortable with seasonal scheduling fluctuations and a role that changes throughout the year. Qualifications Required Experience leading camps, youth programs, sports programs, recreation programs, childcare programs, or similar environments Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Experience supervising staff Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong customer service skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Preferred Camp leadership experience Youth sports background Recreation, education, or coaching experience Experience hiring and training staff CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) The ideal candidate is: Outgoing and energetic Comfortable leading large groups of children and staff Organized and detail oriented Friendly, approachable, and confident Adaptable and solution focused Passionate about creating memorable experiences for kids Comfortable with change and variety Able to bring positive energy into every environment No two camp days are exactly alike.
