Job Description

Description Position Overview SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development and Engineering Intern . This internship offers hands-on experience in the government contracting and defense technology industry, providing exposure to proposal development, market research, competitive analysis, and strategic business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in conducting market research and competitive landscape analysis to identify new business opportunities within federal, defense, and civilian government sectors Support the development and review of proposals, white papers, and capability statements Analyze data and prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership and business development teams Help maintain and update the opportunity pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or GovWin IQ) Collaborate with capture managers, proposal teams, and subject matter experts to support capture planning activities Assist in tracking procurement forecasts , RFI/RFP releases, and government budget trends Participate in win/loss analysis and lessons learned reviews to improve future business development strategies Support the development of teaming strategies and partner identification efforts Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives and business development best practices Attend meetings, industry events, and briefings to gain exposure to the government contracting ecosystem Qualifications Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, AI/ML, Engineering, History, English, Business, Economics or a related field with one year or more of college coursework completed A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework Strong technical background and understanding of software engineering, cyber security, AI/ML, or engineering concepts Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Have a passion for a career in technology U.S. Citizen
