Position Summary:
The Plumbing Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling service calls, managing technician routes, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role acts as the communication hub between customers, technicians, and management to ensure efficient operations and timely service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch plumbers to residential and commercial service calls based on priority, location, and technician skill set Answer incoming customer calls, emails, and service requests in a professional and courteous manner Create and manage daily schedules to maximize technician productivity and efficiency Monitor technician progress throughout the day and adjust schedules as needed Provide clear job details, directions, and customer information to technicians Maintain accurate records of service calls, work orders, and customer information in dispatch software/CRM Follow up with customers regarding service timing, delays, or completion Communicate with customers regarding estimates, arrival times, and service updates Handle customer concerns or complaints and escalate issues when necessary Coordinate emergency service calls after hours when required Assist with invoicing, job closing, and documentation as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of dispatching, scheduling, or customer service experience (preferred in plumbing, HVAC, or service industry) Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Basic computer skills and experience with dispatching software, CRM systems, or Microsoft Office Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
