GED Full Job Description Dispatch Assistant About Us:
Southwest Mobile Storage specializes in modifying storage containers for sale or lease. We take pride in our ability to provide high-quality, customized portable storage solutions while delivering outstanding customer service. We are seeking a reliable Dispatch Assistant to join our Phoenix team, where communication and teamwork thrive. As a Dispatch Assistant, you will support dispatch and operational activities through scheduling coordination, communication with drivers and customers, order processing assistance, and administrative operational support. This role assists with maintaining efficient delivery and pickup scheduling while supporting branch operational workflow and customer service..
Responsibilities:
Assist dispatch personnel with scheduling deliveries, pickups, relocations, and service requests. Communicate with drivers, customers, sales representatives, and operations personnel regarding scheduling and operational updates. Assist with entering and updating dispatch information in company systems. Support preparation and organization of dispatch paperwork, tickets, and operational documentation. Monitor driver schedules, route updates, and customer service requests. Assist with coordinating site information including contacts, site hours, and delivery instructions. Answer phones, emails, and operational inquiries professionally and efficiently. Support branch operations with administrative and scheduling tasks as assigned. Maintain organized operational records and documentation. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of company operational information.
Physical Requirements:
Seated and computer work for extended periods of time Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of dispatch, customer service, administrative, or operational support experience preferred Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel, Word, and Outlook required Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills required Experience with dispatch software, ERP systems, or transportation scheduling preferred Construction, logistics, transportation, or equipment rental industry experience preferred Organization and multitasking abilities Communication and customer service skills Attention to detail and accuracy Time management and scheduling coordination Problem solving and adaptability Data entry and computer proficiency Professionalism and teamwork Ability to work in fast-paced operational environments
