Dispatch Supervisor - Towing Operation

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, organized and detail oriented Dispatch Supervisor to lead our towing dispatch team. The ideal candidate will oversee our 24/7 daily dispatching operations, manage a team of drivers and dispatchers, and ensure efficient, safe, and compliant service to our customers. This role is critical in maintaining high levels of productivity while controlling labor costs through effective workload balancing. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead the dispatch team, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of dispatchers and tow truck drivers. Oversee all incoming calls, job assignments, and real-time coordination with law enforcement, and customers. Ensure drivers take required meal breaks (lunches) on time in full compliance with California labor laws (Meal and Rest Break requirements). Level load driver hours daily and weekly to maintain balanced workloads across the driver team, ensuring all drivers receive approximately equal hours while minimizing overtime. Monitor driver hours, overtime, and productivity using dispatch software and time-tracking systems; adjust assignments proactively to avoid excessive overtime. Maintain accurate records of jobs, tows, impounds, and driver activity. Enforce company policies, safety standards, and

regulations. Handle escalated customer service issues and complaints professionally and efficiently. Coordinate with shop/impound yard staff and management on vehicle storage and releases. Monitor fleet status, equipment readiness, and driver availability. Prepare daily/weekly reports on dispatch metrics, labor hours, overtime, and operational efficiency. Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new dispatchers. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 2-3 years of dispatch experience in towing, transportation, trucking, or emergency services (towing experience strongly preferred). Previous supervisory or lead experience required. Strong knowledge of California labor laws, especially meal/rest break requirements and overtime rules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Proficient with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. Cores hours are M-F 8am to 5pm; but must be able to be available to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Clean driving record and valid California Driver's License. High school diploma or GED required; some college or relevant certifications preferred.
