Food Distribution About the Opportunity We are seeking a Dispatcher / Load Planning Coordinator to support a fast-paced transportation and logistics operation in the Food Distribution industry. This position will be responsible for coordinating driver schedules, monitoring deliveries, planning routes, and ensuring efficient transportation operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, communicates effectively with drivers and internal teams, and can quickly adapt to changing priorities. Responsibilities Coordinate daily dispatch activities for drivers and transportation routes Monitor and track deliveries to ensure on-time performance Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, delays, delivery schedules, and operational updates Plan and optimize routes to maximize efficiency and productivity Track shipments and provide status updates to internal stakeholders Assist with load planning and transportation scheduling Monitor driver availability and equipment utilization Maintain accurate dispatch records and transportation documentation Troubleshoot delivery issues and resolve transportation-related concerns in real time Coordinate with operations teams to ensure customer service expectations are met Support fleet operations and assist with transportation reporting as needed Qualifications 2+ years of dispatch, transportation, logistics, or trucking operations experience Experience coordinating drivers, routes, and deliveries Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel Experience using dispatch software, transportation management systems (TMS), or fleet tracking systems preferred Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service guidelines is a plus Experience with route planning and load coordination preferred Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
