This is an in-office position responsible for supervising dispatch operations, supporting drivers, coordinating port moves, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for a fleet of approximately 15 trucks. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in drayage dispatch, understand port operations, and be able to lead a dispatch team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage daily dispatch operations for approximately 15 trucks Coordinate container pickups and deliveries from the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles Monitor driver schedules, appointment times, and container status Work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, steamship lines, and customers Resolve operational issues such as port delays, chassis shortages, and scheduling conflicts Ensure the dispatch team follows the company SOPs and compliance procedures Track driver performance and support dispatch training Communicate with customers regarding shipment updates and delivery schedules Help improve dispatch efficiency and operational workflow Support DOT and safety compliance requirements Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in drayage dispatch Experience managing dispatch operations and drivers Knowledge of Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles operations Strong understanding of chassis, container tracking, and appointment systems Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and leadership skills Experience with dispatch software and trucking operations systems Must be organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising a dispatch team Bilingual English/Vietnamese is a plus Experience with PortPro or similar TMS software is a plus Compensation Competitive salary based on experience, $26 to $29 per hour Opportunity for growth within the company Schedule Full-time from 4 AM to 1 PM PST In-office position in Carson, CA Some after-hours communication may be required depending on port operations
