About Evolve EMS Evolve EMS is one of the nation's leading special event medical providers, supporting thousands of concerts, festivals, sporting events, film productions, and large-scale gatherings throughout California each year. Our teams operate in fast-paced, high-profile environments where operational coordination and guest safety are critical. We are currently recruiting Event Emergency Dispatchers (EMDs) to support live events in the Los Angeles area. This is a per-diem, event-based role intended for individuals seeking occasional weekend work. Please note that this position does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or shifts. Position Overview The Event Emergency Dispatcher (EMD) is responsible for coordinating and controlling medical response operations during live events. Operating within the Unified Command Center (UCC), the Dispatcher receives calls for service, assigns field resources, tracks unit status, and ensures accurate documentation of all incidents throughout the event lifecycle. This is a high-responsibility operational role. Dispatchers are expected to think clearly under pressure, communicate decisively, and maintain structure and control in rapidly evolving environments. This role is best suited for individuals who perform well in fast-paced, highly organized settings and who take ownership of operational clarity and accountability.
What You'll Be Responsible:
Managing calls for service from intake through closure with accuracy and professionalism Assigning and tracking medical resources to maintain operational coverage Monitoring unit status and event activity in real time Communication & Coordination Maintaining calm, concise radio and internal communications Providing crews with clear, actionable direction Coordinating effectively with supervisors, field personnel, and command staff Documentation & System Integrity Entering complete and accurate call documentation into dispatch systems Maintaining audit-ready incident records and professional reporting standards Ensuring operational logs remain current and defensible Situational Awareness & Escalation Monitoring operational tempo and identifying emerging issues Escalating critical incidents appropriately to leadership Supporting overall command center awareness during high-volume operations Who You Are You are composed, detail-oriented, and comfortable making decisions in real time. You communicate clearly, maintain situational awareness, and understand that documentation accuracy matters just as much as operational speed. Core Skills & Attributes Strong decision-making under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail Ability to multitask without losing clarity Professional composure and emotional regulation Strong computer proficiency and comfort with digital systems Qualifications & ExperiencePreferred Qualifications Experience in dispatch, emergency services, event operations, or another high-tempo coordination role Strong typing and documentation skills Comfortable working within structured protocols and operational systems Experience in healthcare, EMS, public safety, or event medical operations is highly desirable Familiarity with incident management or CAD systems is an asset Working Conditions Event-based work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays High-tempo operational environments requiring sustained focus Continuous monitoring of radio and digital communications Seasonal workload with peak activity during spring, summer and fall months Compensation Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour , depending on certifications, experience, and operational background.
