In this pivotal role, you will oversee dispatching activities, coordinate freight movements, and manage a team of transportation professionals. Your expertise in transportation management systems, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and supply chain logistics will drive efficiency and ensure seamless delivery processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence transportation planning, optimize fleet management, and uphold exceptional communication standards across all levels of operation. Duties Supervise daily dispatching activities, ensuring timely coordination of freight shipments and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GIS and GPS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation efficiency. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation through data entry systems like AS400 and Oracle TMS. Manage fleet operations by coordinating maintenance schedules, tracking vehicle utilization, and implementing fleet management best practices. Lead the team in freight planning, analyzing transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Ensure compliance with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) standards, logistics regulations, and safety protocols across all operations. Support shipping & receiving processes by coordinating schedules and verifying shipment accuracy with attention to detail. Dispatch drivers efficiently using transportation planning tools while maintaining clear documentation of all activities. Provide training and guidance on the use of transportation management systems, analysis skills, and communication best practices. Qualifications Proven experience in transportation management or logistics supervision with familiarity in dispatching roles. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from GPS, GIS, Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 systems. Knowledge of freight operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and supply chain principles. Proficiency in using transportation planning tools such as GPS tracking systems and transportation management software like Oracle TMS. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and courteously. Skilled in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 or similar platforms; typing speed is advantageous. Familiarity with 3PL logistics providers and shipping & receiving protocols. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to lead a team efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
