Dispatch police units efficiently using technology to determine optimal routes and locations. Maintain detailed records of all communications, including incident reports, logs, and transcription of messages with precision and clarity. Use data entry skills to update dispatch databases promptly while ensuring accuracy in all documentation. Provide first aid instructions over the phone when necessary, utilizing medical terminology and first aid protocols to assist callers until emergency responders arrive. Manage conflict situations with professionalism through negotiation and conflict management techniques to de-escalate tense interactions. Coordinate with law enforcement personnel during ongoing incidents, providing critical information that supports effective decision-making. Monitor security systems and CCTV footage as needed to gather additional situational awareness during incidents. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to security protocols at all times to protect sensitive information. Requirements Prior experience in EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) roles or related medical fields is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of GIS technology, GPS navigation tools, and multi-line phone systems. Familiarity with law enforcement procedures, police codes, and medical terminology relevant to emergency response. Experience with phone triage, first aid procedures, and basic conflict management techniques. Excellent communication skills—clear speaking voice, active listening abilities, and professional phone etiquette. Proficient typing speed with high accuracy for data entry and transcription tasks. Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated skills in dispatching emergency units efficiently while maintaining composure during stressful situations. Knowledge of security protocols related to law enforcement operations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining logs and reports accurately.
