Job Description

Responsible for technical, operational, and training support for the agency's mission-critical CAD system. This position ensures the reliability, accuracy, and performance of all CAD-related hardware, software, and peripheral equipment used within the Combined Communications Division and mobile platforms . Includes daily maintenance for GEO base tables, performing routine back-ups, maintenance, trouble shooting, coordinating and supervising the preventive maintenance and repair of all computer equipment used in the center. Shall possess an extensive knowledge in computer hardware and software. Other responsibilities include research, coordination and implementation of computer related projects for the Combined Communications Center. This role directly supports operational continuity, reduces single-point-of-failure risk, and enhances the Center's ability to deliver timely and effective emergency communications services. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the CAD System Administrator. Performance is evaluated through conferences, observation, results obtained, appropriate employee performance appraisals, and oral/written reports. Diagnose and resolve CAD-related technical issues, including software errors, hardware failures, connectivity problems, and user-reported malfunctions Assist in the installation, testing, and deployment of CAD software updates, patches, and version upgrades Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and equipment inventories Support data integrity through routine audits, validation checks, and quality-control processes Coordinate with IT, vendors, and service providers to escalate and resolve complex system issues Maintain, configure, and update all CAD workstations, servers, peripherals, and related equipment within the Communications Center Consult with in-service instructors regarding CAD training for all new staff members hired Provide technical assistance with all CAD-related projects Monitor system performance and implement corrective actions to prevent service disruptions Obtain statistical data and generate reports using Crystal Report queries or any other reporting tool that is suitable and/or available for the required tasks Write operational procedures manuals documenting current systems such as CAD Records and Microsoft Products Serve, as needed, on designated committees for the Communications Division Prepare scheduled reports and statistical information regarding communications activities

[X] High School/GED [X] Associate's Degree [ ] Preferred [ ] Bachelor's Degree [X] Preferred Preferred Major(s): Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or another related field.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Two (2) years successful experience coordinating and controlling various computer systems such as a CAD system or Microsoft SQL server applications. A working knowledge of Crystal Reports is highly desired. A working knowledge of SQL is preferred Any combination of education and experience shall provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING
Current, valid Florida driver license Microsoft 2022 SQL Certification or equivalent
