Freight Dispatcher

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Freight Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage freight movements, ensuring timely and efficient transportation operations. Your expertise in transportation management systems, GPS, GIS, and supply chain logistics will drive seamless dispatching processes. You will serve as the central point of contact for carriers, drivers, and internal teams to optimize freight delivery schedules and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Coordinate freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan routes and schedules effectively. Monitor real-time GPS data and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and troubleshoot issues proactively. Communicate clearly with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Manage shipping and receiving documentation accurately through data entry tasks and ensure compliance with company policies. Utilize transportation planning software to develop efficient dispatch plans that align with supply chain demands. Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle scheduling, maintenance coordination, and compliance with safety standards. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements in logistics operations and freight handling. Qualifications Proven experience in dispatching within a transportation or logistics environment. Strong knowledge of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400. Familiarity with

GPS, GIS

mapping tools, and transportation planning techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally. Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating freight routes, schedules, and operational efficiency. Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is preferred.
