Trucking Company Dispatcher

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Trucking Company Dispatcher to coordinate and manage daily freight operations efficiently. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, clients, and logistics teams, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. Duties Coordinate daily dispatch activities by assigning freight loads to drivers based on delivery schedules, driver availability, and route optimization using transportation management systems such as PortPro or Port TMS. Utilize GPS and Tracking tools to monitor vehicle locations, plan routes, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining clear and professional phone etiquette while providing directions, updates, and support. Enter data accurately into transportation management systems, including freight details, delivery statuses, and shipment documentation for shipping & receiving processes. Manage freight scheduling by coordinating pickups and deliveries with shippers, receivers, 3PL providers, and internal teams to optimize supply chain flow. Maintain fleet management records by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules, driver logs, and compliance documentation using TMS and PortPro TMS Software. Support shipping & receiving operations by verifying shipment details, processing paperwork, and ensuring proper documentation for freight movements. Assist in transportation planning by analyzing logistics data to identify efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve overall dispatching effectiveness. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a trucking or logistics environment is highly preferred. Strong familiarity with transportation management systems. Knowledge of GPS technology, Trucking Industry Softwares, Google Drive and Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while maintaining high levels of phone etiquette. Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating logistics data to improve efficiency and streamline operations. Experience with freight coordination, shipping & receiving procedures, and supply chain processes is advantageous. Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities effectively.
