Job Description

Job Overview As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise inmates, enforce rules and regulations, and ensure a safe environment for both staff and inmates. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle conflict effectively, and a commitment to upholding the law. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a calm organized environment for taking calls in emergency situations. Your primary role will be to answer 911 calls and page out the correct entities in order to help the person. You will be responsible for knowing where the officers are at and run informaiton on the state computer in order to advise officer of information on the subject he is requesting. Multitasking is a must and to be able to remain calm in emergency situations. Responsibilities Answer all phone lines including 911 Send necessary entities in emergency situations Input all information with correct times and locations in the computer Supervise inmate activities and maintain order within the facility. Conduct regular inspections of inmate living areas and common spaces to ensure compliance with facility regulations. Monitor CCTV systems to observe inmate behavior and detect any potential security threats. Respond promptly to emergencies, applying first aid and CPR as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities. Implement conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Collaborate with law enforcement personnel during incidents or investigations as needed. Maintain accurate records of inmate movements and activities throughout the facility. Skills Multitasking Computer skills a must Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques for emergency response. Experience in security roles that require vigilance and quick decision-making. Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle disputes among inmates or between staff and inmates. Excellent report writing abilities to document incidents clearly and accurately. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with inmates, staff, and external agencies. This role is essential in ensuring the safety of the Law Enforcement environment .
