Coordinate and schedule dispatching of freight, trucks, and drivers using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery times. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Transportation Management platforms to update shipment statuses, delivery schedules, and fleet information. Monitor freight shipments through GPS and GIS technology to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly. Collaborate with supply chain teams to plan transportation routes, manage shipping & receiving schedules, and coordinate third-party logistics (3PL) services. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment logs, and incident reports to support analysis and continuous improvement efforts. Proven experience in dispatching within transportation management or logistics environments. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping, and transportation planning tools. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine. Knowledge of freight operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination. Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams. Proficiency in data entry using systems like AS400 or similar platforms; strong typing skills are essential. Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Basic understanding of supply chain concepts including logistics, transportation planning, and freight movement. Technical aptitude with GPS devices, GIS software, and transportation analysis tools for effective dispatching decisions.
