Job Description

The City of Havana is accepting resumes for Part-Time position of 9-1-1 Dispatch/Telecommunicator. This position will provide a critical link in the Cities ability to deliver law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, by being the first and most vital contact with citizens in need.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Quickly and accurately obtain and disseminate exact information from one or more sources simultaneously.
  • Answer incoming 911 and non emergency telephone calls while remaining calm.
  • Provide medical pre-arrival instructions as necessary during life threatening situations.
  • Make multiple entries into a complex computerized system.
  • Comply with a multitude of confidentiality laws regarding highly sensitive and personal information.
Starting Pay:
$17.25 (per Teamsters contract.) Applicants must have or pass the following requirements:
  • Must be 21 yrs of age at time of hire and provide birth certificate
  • Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate required
  • Must pass background check and pre employment drug screening
