LakeComm supports 9-1-1 call-taking and emergency dispatching for 30 police and fire agencies in Lake County, Illinois. LakeComm is seeking lateral, full-time Public Safety Telecommunicators to join our high-performing communications center and team. The position will require 12-hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Requirements:
Under the direction of a Shift Supervisor, Public Safety Telecommunicators perform critical emergency communications functions, including: Receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls for service Dispatching police, fire, and EMS units via radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems Managing multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment Operating complex communications and information systems with accuracy and professionalism Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive, protected, and law-enforcement-related information.  To be considered a lateral candidate, applicants must: Have at least one (1) year of recent experience in good standing as a Public Safety Telecommunicator Demonstrate proficiency in emergency call processing and radio dispatch operations Certifications in LEADS, Priority Dispatch are preferred  
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license Ability to work all assigned shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime Required Certifications (within 6 months of hire): Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) Certification APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) I Certification Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) Certification Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification State of Illinois Emergency Medical Dispatch License
