ANNUAL SALARY

Responsible for assisting police officers in effectively protecting lives and property of Prairie Village and Mission Hills residents. As such, provides a communication link between public, other agencies and police. Work involves performing duties with high degree of independence and proper judgment.Responsibilities and Primary Duties/Functions:
Receive all incoming police and 911 telephone calls; dispatch emergency services to location; provide radio services as required. Record data in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system. Complete various computer checks requested by officers and relay response information to requesting officer. Maintain appropriate records and logs. Enter, modify and remove warrants and wants in law enforcement computer system. Monitor station alarms. Utilize and maintain recording equipment.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some computer experience. One year of emergency radio dispatch preferred. No felony convictions. Felony arrests and misdemeanor convictions will be subject to review if involving drug/alcohol violations, assault/battery violations, or any crime involving moral turpitude violations.
